At the heart of this new concept in pond cleaning is a specially designed pump, which is submersed during use and runs continuously. Most competitors, in contrast, rely on a traditional Pond Vac design, where the pump is sited outside the pond and which can only be operated for less than a minute before the collection chamber becomes full. After which, the contents have to be drained away for disposal, before cleaning can start again.

The Pond Vac is easy to use and delivers up to 50% more suction than comparable system. Also, with much lower power consumption it is up to seven time more efficient delivering significantly reduced running costs. The compact, portable design ensures that it is both easy to operate around the pond and store away after use.

Hozelock Cyprio Pond Vac offers a choice of two suction nozzles, which affix directly to the inlet of the head assembly and ensure efficient cleaning of all pond areas. Both nozzles are brightly coloured for good in-pond visibility. Cutter blades are built into the head assembly so that any large debris such as leaves passing through can be chopped up to avoid blockage.

Up to four sectioned, rigid aluminium tubes, through which the waste passes, are attached to the head assembly to provide a total reach of two metres. An adjustable handle is located on the tubing to provide full control and comfortable operation and the cable leading from the head assembly is attached to the outside of the tubing by clips to keep it neatly out of the way.

The extract waste is passed through a waste hose. All water and toxic waste is removed from the pond to ensure no harmful pollutants are returned. The connector joining the waste hose to handle is transparent and provides a visible check on the amount of debris that is being removed. Additional lengths of aluminium tubing can be added for particularly deep ponds and extra waste hose can be connected using standard hose couplings.
